Local Booking Manager can be integrated to work with Outlook so you are able to send e-mails, quotes, offers, booking confirmations etc. by a click of a button from LBM directly to your clients via Outlook.
Latest version allows sending with 64-bit Outlook as well.
Setting the default mail client
In order to be sure which e-mail client is being used, open Preferences > General options > Visual and check which mail client is set.
If you are using Outlook, set the mail client to Outlook 2002, 2003 (1.) regardless which version you are actually using for best results and press Apply (2.). Also Outlook has to be started before you try to send from LBM.
If you have the correct client set in General options, but you are unable to send mails with Outlook, most likely reason on 64-bit machines can be:
1. You are using 32-bit Java for running LBM and 64-bit Outlook
2. You are using 64-bit Java for running LBM and 32-bit Outlook
Both Java and Outlook must be either 32-bit or 64-bit to work.
Easiest way to fix this is to install the Java version that matches your Outlook.
Checking and verifying the version of Outlook
Open Windows Task Manager > Processes (1.) and find the OUTLOOK.exe process.
If you are running a 32-bit Outlook on 64-bit machine you will see that the process is called OUTLOOK.exe *32 (2.).
If it's 32-bit computer or 64-bit Outlook on 64-bit computer the process will be called OUTLOOK.exe.
Checking and verifying the version of Java
To check the Java version you will need to open the Control Panel of your computer. In Control Panel on a 64-bit computer a 32-bit Java icon will be called Java (32-bit) (1.). If it says only Java you either have 64-bit Java or multiple installations of it. In that case open Programs and Features (2.) to verify.
When the list populates find Java and see what version it is. 32-bit Java will be called e.g. Java (TM) 6 Update 37. 64-bit version will be called e.g. Java (TM) 7 Update 21 (64).
Installing the Correct JavaUninstalling Java from your system is done by clicking with right mouse button on it and selecting Uninstall.
After that go to http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and manually download and install the Java version that matches your Outlook.
Finally, go to http://www.booking-manager.com/cbm/LBM/distribution/ and click on step 2 to download the Launcher for Booking Manager and may need to replace your desktop shortcut as well.
NOTE: It is irrelevant whether you are using Java version 6 or 7.
