Local Booking Manager uses SFTP for synchronization of documents which requires port 22 to allow connections. Very often this port is blocked by local Windows Firewall so you will need to open the port to allow connection.
Opening the Firewall on Win7 and Win8
To open the firewall you will need to go to Start > Control Panel (1.).Easiest way is to switch the view to Icons (either Small or Large ) (1.) and open the firewall to check if it is on.
Next, if it is on, click on Advanced settings.
Setting the Inbound rule
Select Inbound rules (1.) and click on Action (2.),
and click on New rule (1.).
New inbound rule wizard will open and you will need to set it as follows:
1. Select Port (1.) and click Next (2.)
2. Set that rule applies to TCP (1.), enter Specific local ports number 22 (2.) and click Next (3.)
3. Click on Allow the connection (1.) and click Next (2.).
4. Set checks so rule applies to Domain, Private and Public (1.) and click Next (2.)
5. Finally Name the rule (1.) and Click Finish (2.)
Setting the Outbound rule
Once you have set the Incoming rule, you need to set the Outgoing rule so that the synchronization can go both ways, so click on Outbound rules (1.) and Action > New rule (2.) to open the New Outbound rule wizard.
Once the wizard opens set the Outgoing rule exactly the same as you did the Incoming rule, close the firewall settings and synchronize the documents from LBM again.
NOTE: If you have set the local firewall to be open for port 22 but you still can not synchronize the documents, it is possible that you have a firewall on your network, in which case that firewall also has to have port 22 opened and for which you must contact your network administrator to open it.
